Doco was shot dead by the UVF on May 21st 1994 while attempting to prevent a bombing by the UVF at the Widow Scanlans pub Dublin.

His bravery saved hundreds of people who were attending a function in the Widow Scanlans that evening. The garda at the time said that Martins actions prevented a massacre.

We will never forget DOCO’s bravery on that night and be forever grateful for the lives he saved through his courageous actions.

Doco was a freedom fighter who gave his life to save countless others.
