It was formed by James Larkin and Jack White. Other prominent members included James Connolly, Seán O'Casey, Countess Markievicz, Francis Sheehy-Skeffington.
In 1916, The Irish Citizen Army took part in the Easter Rising – aimed at ending British rule in Ireland.
The Starry Plough was the flag of the ICA.
The quote reads: " Only the Irish working class remains as the incorruptible inheritors of the fight for freedom in Ireland" - James Connolly.
